Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members, 

As we seek to continuously improve our school district, we rely on the input of individuals like you. One of the ways you can make a significant impact is by joining one of our committees, which play a vital role in carrying out our board and district goals. 

Here's a brief overview of each committee and its purpose: 

1. Athletic Committee: The goal of this committee is to enhance and broaden athletic opportunities for all students at APW while maintaining a focus on academic success. 

2. Excellence in Student Achievement Committee (ESA): This committee brings together parents, teachers, administrators, and board members to increase academic opportunities and improve student performance. 

3. Long-Range Planning: This committee takes a comprehensive look at district-wide facilities and instructional program needs, establishes project priorities, and develops a long-range plan for our school facilities. 

4. Finance Committee: Members of this committee review the board and district goals to assess their budgetary impact. 

5. Wellness Committee: This committee evaluates and updates the district's wellness policy to ensure that it meets the regulations set forth by the NYS Commissioner of Education. (Note: This committee does not meet monthly.)

6. Policy Committee: Members of this committee review and update board policies to ensure alignment with state and federal requirements.

We encourage anyone interested in contributing to the advancement of our district to consider joining one of these committees. Your involvement is crucial in shaping the future of our schools and ensuring the best possible educational experience for our students. 

Our committees generally meet on the fourth Thursday of each month unless otherwise posted. You can find the schedule on the Board Calendar, which is on the APW website. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the success of our schools.
